More taxpayer dollars... more taxpayer dollars... NO CHANGE!.... NO CHANGE! For how long can we keep kidding ourselves about the big three?... Listen I am a Chevy guy myself... and my wife loves her Lincoln Navigator (lousy gas mileage... but safe as all hell)... But 'cmon!... They are not making it!... and with borrowing more and more money to pay for inflated workers costs... what chance do they have to turn this thing around given another few months and many more billions of dollars?
The UAW does not want to bend much at all on their contracts... So I say, FINE. They SHOULD get taxpayer money... but in the form of unemployment payments!... I would say this is a big concession on "salary" and "benefits"... Isn't it? The union bosses will get their same pay!... and retain their "power" and "recognition" of standing strong as a group!... But the individual worker (and I mean the ones that really work hard and care about a quality product), will suffer...
Just like Americans need to wake up on who they are voting for... Union members need to wake up on who they are in-trusting with their futures.
