Joseph Biden Jr., Dead at 65 (speaking of his hopes as VP)

A rumor circulating through my emails today provoked me to write again about Joe Biden and his role in this presidential election. In my past blog titled "Bye, bye Biden, I talked about the meeting that took place between Barack Obama and Bill Clinton on this past September 11th. I laid out my views that it would be to figure out a way for Biden to step down and let Hillary take his place. I explained that if this would be done, the fallout would not be as big as people think, it would actually be a windstorm of publicity for the Obama/Clinton ticket, monopolizing the media coverage right up to election day, and leaving Joe Biden as a "hero" to the many democrats who know he is doing little to help, and more to hurt the dems chances of victory in November.

Well on to this rumor being circulated in emails today. It is summarized as follows:

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on October 2nd.

My personal take thus far, is that this is interesting in itself, why wouldn't Hillary debate Palin? Or, is it because the Obama campaign wants to  give Joe another "test run". This time against Sarah Palin. If he performs well, his dreams may live, if he performs badly enough to give Palin a boost, his dreams are dead. Then Hillary needs to "roll the dice" on Obama winning, AND doing a good job over the next four or eight years, if she hopes to be elected as president in 2016. If she takes the VP slot now, you know that Bill will be out on the scene stating the fact that Hillary came back to "save" the party this time around. Obama will be a presidential "puppy". They will make Christmas videos of Barack running around the White House, with garland in his mouth. It will be Barry instead of Barney... Now back to the "rumor".

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this information. Generally the felling was we should all go ahead and get this news out there, on emails, on talk radio, and in blogs like this one. I have already seen a few short "blurbs" about this - the "health problem" cited in those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.
However, at this point, with the inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get it out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the manipulation that it is. [end of "rumor"].

Unfortunately, 50% of America will not view this as a "maneuver". They will see it as a "hero" stepping down to allow his presidential nominee make the correct choice this time, to save the victory in November. But how much damage is to be felt by the institution and the top of the ticket? Obama will suffer a bigger loss than losing. He will be undermined everyday with the simple fact that "if not for Hillary" and the Clinton supporters, Barack would be back in the senate like Kerry before him. As long as Obama can be in the shadow of his vice president for four or eight years, his description will be compared to the stories always put out about Dick Cheney running the White house and the policies of the Bush administration. I have wondered why the Obama campaign did not start the original message of "another four years of Cheney", since this is what they would want us to believe the past eight years.
